From January to June 2019, my wife and I are on a Fulbright research grant in Finland.
I am taking this time to:
Raise our baby daughter
Explore design, innovation and culture in Finland (and Europe)
Continue my technical projects to exercise skills
…and have fun soaking up Finland! (XC ski races, aurora, metal concerts, saunas, snow bicycling, nordic skating, ice fishing, and beyond!)
Thanks!

About
I am a Mechanical Engineer and have been working in product development and innovative technology with my MSME since 2012.
I’ve squandered a lot of time on many different hobbies (including RC aircraft, programming, paragliding, dirtbike and bike building, musicianship, and parkour). Fortunately, these experiences often feed my professional work by growing tangible understandings with concepts and patience with self-induced tedium ;)
Here is some extended trivia:
I think there are useful lessons to be gained doing any activity. Outside of my projects, I enjoy a bunch of hobbies:
MTB/Cycling, gymnastics/parkour, art, musicianship, soccer, running, photography, paragliding, dirtbiking, carpentry, mountaineering
Education and work summary:
Grew up in Davidson, NC and Dubai UAE (my father was an architecture professor)
BA in Molecular Biology
Worked in Neurobiology at Morehouse for a year on Stroke and Diabetes. Didn’t like dealing with the nasty chemicals.
Minor in Music composition
Got free lessons in Jazz guitar and piano, woohoo!
Took a bunch of electives in Physics and Computer Science
MS Mechanical Engineering
Always built and crafted things so this was the best fit
Got grants for a few of my projects and tried developing a kickstart product
Been working since 2012 in Product development companies, contracting, HP inc., and Boosted Boards.
